Head area looking aft

Standing in the head area looking aft. Forward berth stbd. Vanity top on port side with small SS sink. This sink was connected to seawater only in the beginning but was connected to a small fresh water tank later.

Berth face with 6 cubbyholes for small articles. Inside the cubbies, I installed netting instead of solid bottoms, to allow for flow through air ventilation. Great place for socks, underwear, etc.

You can see an access hatch opening under the cockpit floor. The design calls for two compartments forward and two in the rear. These are very large storage areas. One in the rear was to be used for an inboard engine.

The entry hatch for the forward storage compartments is lower then normal because of the special locker installed under the cockpit floor. Because the centerboard does not fill the centerboard trunk completely, you can build a fuels locker under the cockpit floor. This locker is 40 inches fore and aft, 18 inches high, and as wide as the main hull. It is accessible only through the cockpit floor and drains through the center board trunk and through vents in the hull sides. Any fumes escaping from fuel or other unpleasant items do not enter the cabin but exit through the many vents.

This modification was designed for the Searunner 34, but can be incorporated into any of the larger boats.
