Port cabin sides forward

This is a view from the bow of the port float. You can see how the cabin side fits over the main strength bulkhead and protrudes forward to help form the leading edge of the wing deck.

A shaped piece of wood beveled on the bottom, flat on top, runs from the port side of the main hull attaches to the front of the cabin side and continues on to the inside edge of the port float hull. You have to draw fair curves on the hull surfaces to shape the underwing forward curve. The curve is to be the same as the cabinside forward piece, but larger on the main hull and smaller on the float. You do this by using a flexible batten to draw your lines.

Remembering that the main strength bulkheads are only strong in one direction, vertical, we have to provide strength in the other direction, horizontal.

You can see how the bottom of the wing deck, along with the main strength bulkheads and the main and float hull sides form one part of a giant box.
