Traveler

Here you can see some of the deck layout. We have the traveler located just aft of its position. The traveler was tied into the main strength bulkhead. Just to the left of it, we have a track being positioned. This track is for the genoa. Optimum position for this track would have been on the outboard edge of the cabin top, but I had the propane locker hatch there, so… I installed twin sheet lead blocks on these tracks to provide for the large angles I expected. Aft of the track you see a pad for a turning block. The genoa sheets came aft, through the adjustable lead block, around the turning block and straight to a winch.

Forward from this track, there is a staysail track. This track leads directly into a smaller winch.

In the cockpit is an Edison pedestal and 30 inch destroyer wheel. This wheel just fits between the seats and you have to climb up on a seat to pass. In harbor, I remove the wheel and you have easy access to the forward cabin.

I choose the Edison pull, pull steering system. It was the closest thing I could find that would give all the advantages of the Searunner pull, pull system. One great advantage of the Edison system, your cables are enclosed in a flexible Teflon lined tube from the wheel to the rudder quadrant. Not going to jump any sheaves here.
